01 What we deliver

From feasibility
to full-scale recovery.

BioMetallix delivers bio-recovery as a service — from initial feedstock analysis through to operating recovery units on your site and reporting on their output. You bring the material, we bring the biology, hardware and intelligence.

02 The service model

Three ways to work with us

Every engagement starts with a paid feasibility study. From there, clients choose how deep they want to go — from a single pilot unit through to a full multi-site deployment.

Tier 01

Assess

Feasibility & modelling

A paid study that characterises your feedstock and models recovery efficiency, throughput, capex and carbon outcome — before any hardware moves.

  • Feedstock sampling & characterisation
  • Consortia selection & lab trials
  • Digital process model
  • Commercial & carbon impact forecast

Tier 03

Scale

Strategic partnership

Multi-site rollout with joint operations, custom consortia development, and long-term supply agreements for recovered metal output.

  • Multi-site program management
  • Custom consortia for bespoke feedstocks
  • Offtake & supply agreements
  • Regulatory & compliance support

03 Service 01

MER Implementation & Operations

Deploy. Operate. Recover.

The flagship service. We ship containerised Microbial Enhanced Recovery units to your site, integrate them with your existing waste-handling infrastructure, commission them with our engineers, and operate them for the life of the contract.

You don't buy the bioreactor — you buy the outcome: a specified tonnage of feedstock processed and a specified quantity of battery-ready metal recovered.

  • Site survey & integration planning
  • Consortia engineering for your feedstock
  • Turnkey deployment & commissioning
  • Ongoing operations, monitoring & maintenance
  • Certified output reporting
Deliverables
  • Commissioned unit(s)

Installed, tested and handed over with documented performance baseline.

  • Operator training

Two-week on-site program covering operations, safety and reporting.

  • Monthly output reports

Metal recovered, recovery efficiency, uptime and carbon metrics.

  • 24/7 support line

Remote diagnostics and rapid-response engineer dispatch.

04 Service 02

Bio Data Analytics Platform

SaaS. Available standalone or bundled.

Our analytics platform sits on top of any bio-recovery operation. It ingests microbial, chemical and flow telemetry, runs it through predictive models tuned to your feedstock, and surfaces actions to the operators.

It can be licensed alongside a MER deployment, or independently for clients running their own bio-recovery operations.

Live process dashboards

Real-time monitoring of cell density, metabolite flux, pH, redox and metal concentration — displayed for operators and management alike.

Predictive yield modelling

Feedstock-aware models that forecast output and flag deviation before it affects yield.

Certified reporting

Auto-generated audit trails for sustainability, carbon and material balance reporting — accepted by EU and UK frameworks.

Integration-ready APIs

REST and OPC-UA endpoints for SCADA, ERP, and third-party ESG reporting stacks.

05 Service 03

Strategic Partnership & Consulting

For complex, multi-site, or first-of-a-kind programs.

Where feedstock is novel, volumes are large, or regulators need satisfying, we engage as a strategic partner rather than a supplier. That means custom consortia development, feasibility support, and joint ownership of outcomes.

Custom consortia development

Directed-evolution engineering of microbial communities tuned to a specific, novel, or mixed feedstock.

Supply chain integration

Connecting recovered metal output into refining, alloying and battery manufacturing partners.

Regulatory & compliance support

Data, documentation and expert witness support for permitting and ESG attestation.

Joint venture structuring

Risk-shared commercial models for strategic deployments, up to and including SPVs.

06 Commercial model

How engagements are structured

Every project is priced individually — feedstock, site and scale all matter — but here is the standard commercial shape. All figures are indicative and confirmed during scoping.

Engagement Structure Typical duration Who it's for
Feasibility study Assess Fixed fee, milestone-based 6–10 weeks First-time evaluators
Pilot deployment Deploy Monthly service fee + per-tonne processing 6–12 months Site-level proof of value
Commercial deployment Deploy Monthly service fee + per-tonne processing + offtake share 3–10 years Ongoing operations
Analytics SaaS Standalone Per-seat, per-site subscription Annual, rolling Owners of existing bio-recovery assets
Strategic partnership Scale Bespoke — JV, SPV, or profit-share Multi-year program Multi-site operators & funds

All engagements begin with a paid feasibility study. No obligation to proceed beyond that stage. Speak to our team.

07 Delivery

What a typical engagement looks like

From first conversation to first recovered metal, in around six months — assuming a straightforward feedstock and site.

Week 0
Scoping call

Introductory call to understand feedstock, site and objectives. No cost, no commitment.

Week 1
Proposal & feasibility agreement

Formal proposal with scope, timeline and fixed fee for the study phase.

Weeks 2–10
Feasibility study

Sampling, lab trials, consortia selection, digital modelling and commercial forecast.

Week 10
Go / no-go decision

Review of study outcomes and joint decision on whether to proceed to deployment.

Weeks 10–20
Deployment & commissioning

Unit build, site preparation, shipment, installation, and commissioning with operators.

Week 20+
First metal recovered

Operations begin. Monthly reporting starts. Steady-state optimisation continues.

08 Questions

Frequently asked

If your question isn't answered here, our engineering team is happy to talk it through directly.

What feedstocks can MER process?

Our platform is currently validated on mixed electronic waste, mine tailings and spent lithium-ion battery black mass. We are actively developing consortia for steel-making dusts, catalytic converter residues and low-grade urban mining streams. If your feedstock is unusual, we'll tell you honestly whether it's viable during the feasibility phase.

Do I have to buy the bioreactor?

No. Our standard model is a service agreement — you buy processed tonnage and recovered metal, not capital equipment. This keeps your capital expenditure at zero and means the risk of technology performance sits with us, not you.

What does a pilot deployment actually cost?

Pilot deployments are priced on a monthly service fee plus a per-tonne processing fee. The exact figure depends on feedstock complexity, site logistics and throughput. We'll give you a firm number after the feasibility study — never a range.

Who owns the recovered metals?

Depends on the commercial structure. In a standard service agreement, you own the output and we invoice for processing. In an offtake model, we take title to a portion of the metals and sell them into our supply chain partners. Both structures are available.

How long does a full deployment take?

From signed feasibility agreement to first recovered metal: typically 20 weeks. The feasibility study itself is 6–10 weeks; deployment and commissioning is a further 6–10 weeks. Complex sites may run longer, and we'll flag that during scoping.

What regulatory frameworks do you support?

Our reporting layer produces data compatible with EU CSRD, UK SECR, and the GHG Protocol. For permitting, our team will work alongside your environmental consultants to prepare the technical dossier.

Can the analytics platform be licensed on its own?

Yes. If you already operate a bio-recovery asset — bacterial leaching, algal processing, or similar — our analytics platform can be deployed independently. Contact us for a technical compatibility review.
